Educating for Laudato Si’
The Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist welcome you to our Praise Be To You! Educating for Laudato Si’ initiative.
Reflecting on our lived experience of Franciscan Eucharistic spirituality over the years since our founding in 1973, the Community identifies four pillars which come forth from our common life of hands-on work on the land and in our apostolates.
These four pillars – little portion, reverence, relationship and sacramental ecology – are community-embedded values, part of the “dna” of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist. They illuminate for us the essence of Pope Francis’ teaching in “Laudato Si’” and highlight the importance of hands-on, experiential learning activities in the growth of each person.
Learning Activities
For each pillar we offer hands-on practical experiences for various age groups. These simple learning modules come from the Sisters’ own experiences with land, animals, plants and everyday life in relationship to others.
